Mai Tai

mai tai

My first Mai Tai was not of the artisanal variety. In fact, most Mai Tai’s I’ve had haven’t been. That being said, I still order them! They’re delicious and perfect when you’re missing summer, enjoying summer, on vacation or really whenever you want a smile on your face. When we’re home and the cravings hit, this is my go to recipe. Enjoy it with the most outrageous glassware you have and post it on Instagram! Tag us and we’ll repost it on our website!

Equipment: shaker, strainer, crushed ice (cubes whacked in a Ziploc bag work great)

2 oz rum (Zaya is the go to around here)

¾ fresh lime juice

½ oz orange curacao

¼ oz orgeat syrup

¼ oz simple syrup

Lime wedge for garnish

Combine rum, lime, curacao, orgeat, and simple syrup in shaker with ice. Shake for 15-20 seconds and strain into glass over crushed ice. Garnish with lime wedge. Cheers!
